The student freethought group Secular Student Alliance (SSA) is holding their annual SSA Week to both celebrate the work their affiliates do and to raise money to continue the outreach to college and high school students. During the week some bloggers and other online voices will be posting special content to ask people to donate to the group. The SSA does special work and needs your support so please donate if you can.
Bloggers, comic artists, and the whole community will be fundraising for the Secular Student Alliance, highlighting the wonderful things secular students do every day.
Donate Blue SmallAnd, to top it all off, all donations received during SSA Week will be doubled! Generous SSA Supporters Jeff Hawkins and Janet Strauss have pledged a $250,000 matching offer, and this week we want to put a giant dent in it!
So just in case you don’t know who the Secular Student Alliance is:
The mission of the Secular Student Alliance is to organize, unite, educate, and serve students and student communities that promote the ideals of scientific and critical inquiry, democracy, secularism, and human-based ethics. We envision a future in which nontheistic students are respected voices in public discourse and vital partners in the secular movement’s charge against irrationality and dogma.
The Secular Student Alliance is a 501(c)(3) educational nonprofit. We work to organize and empower nonreligious students around the country. Our primary goal is to foster successful grassroots campus groups which provide a welcoming community for secular students to discuss their views and promote their secular values.
Watching the SSA begin and grow over almost 13 years has been one of the best things I’ve seen in the freethought community since I’ve been involved. August Brunsman and the staff have always brought their ‘A’ game and they need and deserve our support.
